Administration

Bruce Pagel, M.A., Director/CEO, received his Master’s Degree in Political Science with a certificate in Public Administration from the University of Florida. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Northern Arizona University. He has held management positions for more than 25 years.  He has served as a City Manager and retired from the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of Major.  He has studied leadership, organizational dynamics, and team building for many years.
 

Kenny Ebersole, M.Ed., Academic Dean, received his Master's Degree in Education from American Intercontinental University.  He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology/Sociology from Austin Peay State University.  He has spent the last 10 years in different educational environments including secondary, post-secondary, and corporate settings.  He has a strong background in educational leadership and development with an emphasis in team building.


Jamin Nichols, AP, MAOM is a graduate of Florida School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine (DRCOM) with a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  Since 1998, he has studied extensively with Dr. Leon Hammer in the arts of Contemporary Oriental Medicine and Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis (CCPD).  In 2003, he began training in Toyohari, a gentle Japanese style of acupuncture.  He has attended national and international trainings with some of the top teachers from Japan.  Since 2002 (with a 1 year hiatus), he has been teaching and supervising at DRCOM, where he essentially designed the curriculum for CCPD.  Jamin is currently the Clinic Director for the DRCOM student clinic.


Ruth Hayes-Morrison, M.Ed., L.M.T., Dean of Student Services, graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Counseling, and a concentration in Higher Education Administration.  She has a strong background in student support services as the Director of the Pre-Professional Program at the University of Vermont, and as Campus Program Director at New England College.
 

Kate Ellison, Registrar, graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1971 with a degree in Sociology. She brings a variety of experience, including office management, social work, graphic arts, and carpentry. A Reiki Master, she has studied Non-violent Communication, organic gardening, and western herbs. She previously worked in the admissions department of an acupuncture school.
 

Kathy Travis, Office Manager and Clinic Administrator, enhances the office staff with her diverse background and experience.  She has had extensive administrative experience including training, supervision, and coordination of teams.  Her background also includes sales and she currently holds a real estate license.  As office manager, she has done everything including bookkeeping, notary, and even IT work on 10 office computers.  Originally from New York, Kathy has lived in Florida for several years.
Liz Greaser, MLS, Librarian received her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida. Liz has a lifelong interest in education and learning and has worked as a children’s librarian, Montessori teacher and as a college librarian at Santa Fe College in Gainesville. As a college librarian, her main duties include teaching research skills to students, answering reference questions, and working with faculty to develop the library’s collection. She is currently serving as the part-time librarian for DRCOM.
Daniel Horak, MLS, Assistant Librarian, is a graduate of the University of South Florida, Library Science Program and holds a B.F.A. from the University of Florida.  He has worked in the Alachua County Library system since 1998, including reference and Internet/database search.  He continues to work for Alachua County libraries while managing the daily operations for the Dragon Rises College Library.

 

Jerrod Fletcher, M.A.O.M., A.P., Administrative Assistant, graduated from Dragon Rises College in 2007 and holds a B.B.A. from Harding University, AR.  In addition to retail sales, he has assisted in an acupuncture practice for two years prior to establishing his private practice.
